Carolina Coonhound Rescue is a non-profit rescue based in Charleston SC.  We are  dedicated to placing hounds in loving forever homes.  Our dogs come from all backgrounds and situations from owner surrenders to shelters as well as strays off the street looking for a caring family to take them in and love them forever.  Hounds make amazing family pets and we are dedicated to educating the public that they are more than just a working dog.  Hounds are very loyal and while the rumors about them having a tendancy to roam are true they can still be great family companions and even apartment dogs! 

Most of our dogs are retired hunting dogs.  We are not against hunters but do know that there are some who do not keep their dogs up to ideal or even passable standards.  We work to save as many hounds as we can once they are discarded as well as educate the public about how great they can be as pets!
